Reality is subjective. Sometimes the mistakes make for an interesting shot, and bring new perspective in the narrative. In this shot, the jungle babbler made a perfect landing as it flew towards me to either investigate or intimidate, but it was my relative position and a miscalculation in timing the shot that changed the narrative, as if it miscalculated its flight and hit its head on the branch.

The trees are watching. Spotted owlets have always been very fascinated me with their interesting and often entertaining behaviour. While looking around for birds, I saw some movement and two eyes in a hole created by a broken tree branch. It took me a moment to realise that it was an owlet hiding there, looking at me as I moved around. In this shot, this owlet was trying to hide in the broken tree branch as soon as it made eye contact with me, and it would often pop part of its head out to see whether I was still there or not.
