I shot this image of a beautiful dome of the Shah Mosque in Isfahan with the intention of showcasing all the intricate tile-work and the genius of Persian architecture. In the centre of the dome Is a peacock and the surrounding design signifies its open feathers while the sunlight falling from the cleverly placed vents/oculus magically aligns behind the peacock like its feathers when tucked in.

Khaju Bridge is a 17th-century Persian bridge that spans the Zayanderud River. This bridge is as much an engineering marvel as much as it is beautiful. It features 23 stone arches, tile-work, paintings, and a pavilion for admiring the river. Today the people of Isfahan gather in the cool evenings by the river enjoying the view and is a common picnic place, and so do the tourists.

I was incredibly grateful for this rare closeup encounter with a thresher shark. A closeup portrait of a thresher shark is not something we see quite often, it gives us a unique perspective to the details on their snouts and eyes and gills.

A Thresher shark approaches me head on and curves itself displaying all its fins and the glorious whipping tail. The silhouette of a second thresher shark in the background gives a feeling of a shadow in the image.
