scorpion photographed under ultraviolet light, revealing its natural fluorescence. Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) was used during the exposure to capture the motion of the scorpion along with the shimmering reflections of particles on the ground, transforming the scene into an abstract interpretation of nocturnal life.

During a night walk on the outskirts of Chennai after a light drizzle, I went out to look for frogs along a small stream. A few mayflies attracted to my torchlight settled on the rocks. This individual had completed its aquatic stage and was in its short adult phase, which lasts only a few hours, long enough to fly, mate and complete its life cycle. I used a backlight placed at a distance to illuminate the falling rain and turn it into soft bokeh around the mayfly, highlighting the brief and delicate nature of this moment.
