Your film should be up to 1 minute in duration and less than 500 MB in size. The accepted file formats are MOV or MP4.
Yes, a group can submit a single entry. However, the entry must be made in the name of a representative. If the entry wins, the representative must provide the names of the collaborators, and only the mentioned awards will be given.
The competition is open to all professional and amateur filmmakers residing in India, regardless of gender. Entrants must be 18 years or older. The competition is free to enter, and participants can use any type of filming equipment.
Videos must follow these guidelines:
- No AI-generated content.
- No copyrighted material without permission (music, film clips, trademarks, celebrity likenesses, film credits, etc.).
- No illegal, offensive, or harmful content, including defamation, violence, racism, or sexually explicit material.
- No commercial promotions or advertisements.
- No content harming the environment or animals.
- Non-English dialogue must have English subtitles unless in English.
Your video will be evaluated based on creativity, storytelling, and technical execution. Entries must adhere to the contest’s rules and format. Refer T&C for details.
If your entry gets shortlisted, you may need to submit a higher-resolution version of your video for PR, exhibitions, or other promotional purposes. To claim the prize, you must provide your PAN number or that of a family member. If you are a student, you must submit valid college identification.
Yes, by entering the competition, you grant the organizers the right to use your video for promotional and exhibition purposes.
Terms & Conditions
“1 Min of Magic” Contest

Contest Period
- The “1 Min of Magic” Contest (“Contest”) shall commence on 9 March 2026 and conclude at 11:59 PM IST on 9 May 2026 (“Contest Period”).
- The Contest is organized and conducted by Sony India Private Limited (“Sony India”).

Platform
- The Contest shall be hosted on the Alpha Community website https://alphacommunity.in/video-contests/7/one-minutes-of-magic-contest-season-2/ during the Contest Period (both dates inclusive).

Eligibility
- The Contest is open only to Indian citizens residing in India who are aged 18 years or above as on the date of participation.
- The following are not eligible to participate:
- Employees of Sony India and its affiliates, subsidiaries, representatives, and their immediate family members;
- Non-Resident Indians (NRIs);
- Foreign nationals residing in India.
- Sony India reserves the right to verify eligibility and request proof of identity and residence.

Entry Limit
- Only one (1) entry per Participant (including group entries) shall be permitted.

Participation Conditions
- By participating, each Participant agrees:
- To be bound by these Terms & Conditions and the decisions of Sony India, which shall be final and binding;
- That they meet all eligibility requirements;
- To comply with all applicable central, state, and local laws in India.
- Participation in the Contest is free of cost.

Group Entries
- Entries may be submitted individually or as a group.
- Entry must be made in the name of one representative.
- Any prize, if awarded, shall be given only to the named representative.
- Sony India shall not be responsible for internal disputes among collaborators.

Submission Specifications
- Participants must upload original high-resolution audio-visual work (“Content”) as per the following:
- Format: MOV or MP4
- Maximum Size: 500 MB
- Duration: Minimum 20 seconds and maximum 60 seconds (including credits)
- Language: English; if any other language is used, English subtitles are mandatory
- Equipment: No restriction
- 360° Videos: Must not rely on special playback applications
- Description: Story behind the work (maximum 200 characters)
- Sony India may request high-resolution files from shortlisted Participants.

- Participants must follow Sony India’s official Instagram page at: https://www.instagram.com/profilmmakingbysony_india/
- This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram.

Student Category
- Participants entering under the student category must provide valid college identification if shortlisted.

Responsibility for Submission
- Participants are solely responsible for ensuring successful upload of entries within the Contest Period.
- Sony India shall not be responsible for technical failures or incomplete submissions.

Content Restrictions
- Submissions must not:
- Contain obscenity, nudity, sexual content, profanity, or graphic violence;
- Promote hatred, political propaganda, or religious intolerance;
- Defame, abuse, or disrespect any person, institution, or community;
- Infringe any intellectual property or third-party rights;
- Violate any applicable Indian law.
- AI-generated content is not permitted.

Originality & Rights
- Participants represent and warrant that:
- The Content is original and created by them;
- They own all rights or have obtained necessary permissions, including music and likeness rights;
- They have obtained consent from all persons appearing in the Content.
- Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sony India from any third-party claims arising from the submitted Content.

Use of Content
- By submitting an entry, the Participant grants Sony India a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, adapt, edit, display, and promote the Content for marketing, promotional, and business purposes without further compensation. Due credit shall be given where feasible.

Disqualification
- Sony India reserves the right to disqualify any Participant who:
- Submits incomplete or misleading information;
- Uses unfair means;
- Violates these T&Cs;
- Submits Content that is offensive or unlawful.

Expenses
- All costs related to creation, editing, and submission of Content shall be borne by the Participant.

Privacy
- By participating, Participants consent to the collection and processing of their personal data for purposes of administering the Contest, communication, winner selection, and promotional activities.
- Personal data shall be processed in accordance with Sony India’s Privacy Policy and applicable laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Limitation of Liability
- Sony India shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of participation in the Contest.
- Sony India reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Contest in its discretion.

Taxes
- Any applicable taxes, duties, or levies arising from prizes shall be the sole responsibility of the winner.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction
- The Contest shall be governed by the laws of India.
- All disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at New Delhi.
