Vashistha spent a major portion of his life in the famous Darjeeling hills of India which also happens to be his hometown. He developed a keen interest in photography at a young age. Photographing the picturesque landscapes of the Himalayas and wrinkled portraits of the mountain faces, the interest only grew deeper as a passion to learn more about the craft. The process of discovery finally led him to transition to motion picture imaging, thus he moved to Mumbai to learn Cinematography.
