Sony Wins 3 TIPA World 2023 Awards

Sony camera and lenses continued to bag honours and accolades, this time at the recently announced TIPA World 2023 Awards. These annual prestigious awards, bestowed by the Technical Image Press Association, celebrate the best imaging products in the global market.

The winners are - Sony α7R V full-frame high-resolution camera, Sony FE 50 mm F1.4 GM lens and Sony FE 20-70 mm F4 G lens.

The Sony α7R V full-frame high-resolution camera has been crowned as the Best Full-Frame Professional Camera. The TIPA editors were unanimous in their choice of the α7R V as a highly impressive, responsive, and flexible camera that raises the bar on features and functions for working pro photographers. TIPA highlighted that this camera offers unprecedented accuracy and speed in tracking and predicting a host of subject’s movement with its advanced AI-powered autofocus system. The Sony FE 50 mm F1.4 GM lens has been named as the Best Standard Prime Lens by TIPA. Talking about it, the judges said, “Offering a super-fast f/1.4 maximum aperture, this prime lens is ideal for low light and candid shooting. With an 11-blade diaphragm and 40.6 cm close focusing capability, this G Master lens is ideal as a general-purpose lens that can deliver startlingly smooth backgrounds and rich bokeh.” TIPA editors were impressed by the incorporation of new design and control features, including two focus hold buttons and a Linear Response manual focus ring for fine focus control. Sony FE 20–70 mm F4 G has won the award for Best Standard Zoom Lens.
